Acho que os artistas são contadores de histórias. Sempre foi assim e sempre será.
Foi assim na época de Michelangelo, na era do impressionismo, no início da Século 20 em Paris, século 17 na Holanda.
Se pararmos por um momento e começarmos a refletir profundamente sobre esta verdade, poderemos encontrar vestígios de o que estou dizendo até nas cavernas de Lascaux, na França.
Existe alguma diferença entre um artista como eu e aqueles homens das cavernas que fizeram obras de arte incríveis
simplesmente usando tinta animal? Eles deixaram uma marca. Eles falaram sobre seu tempo, seus hábitos, suas vidas.
Família, política, estratégia, comida, amor, guerra.
Devíamos parar de olhar para o passado. Devemos olhar para o nosso tempo.
Como artista, tenho que falar sobre meu mundo.
Meu compromisso é descrever e ilustrar a sociedade em que vivo.
Eu sou apenas um veículo, um mensageiro.

I think artists are storytellers. It’s always been like this, and it will always be.
It was like this at the time of Michelangelo, during the era of impressionism, at the beginning of
20th century in Paris, in the 17th century in the Netherlands.
If we stopped for a moment and we start to deeply reflect on this truth, we could find traces of
what I’m saying even in the Lascaux caves, in France.
Is there any difference between an artist like me and those cave men who made amazing artworks
simply using animal ink? They left a mark. They talked about their time, their habits, their lives.
Family, politics, strategy, food, love, war.
We should stop looking back at the past. We should look at our time.
As an artist, I have to tell about my world.
My commitment is to describe and to illustrate the society I live in.
I’m just a vehicle, a messenger.
